Breakfast at Elan Café // Desayuno en Elan Café

In my latest visit to London, I decided to go to Elan Café since it is one of the most popular cafes in London. For those who have never heard of it, Elan Café is very popular for its floral walls, pink decorations which are different across the branches, and their hot drinks. I had already tried to have afternoon tea there but there was a massive queue to sit in, it was raining and I wanted to spend more time visiting places in London than waiting so long. So I ended up ordering a hot chocolate to take away (which was delicious.)

This last time, I made sure I was there early enough! It was a Sunday morning and Park Lane branch opened at 8:00am. My partner and I were the first ones to arrive so we were lucky to be able to choose where we sat and the staff was very friendly. We ordered Acai bowl, Woodland Hot Chocolate, Hot breakfast and a croissant. The acai bowl was full of flavour! I was expecting a small bowl, as I´ve been served small smoothie or acai bowls in the other places, so I ordered a croissant first. However, the portion was big and enough to fill you up with that. My partner ordered a hot chocolate which had small marshmallows and a hot breakfast which includes poached eggs served on English muffins with hollandaise. I tried a little bit of both and they were so tasty. The marshmallows were melting in the hot chocolate giving a sweet flavour to it and the eggs were on point!

I was very impressed by the food. Before visiting I had checked TripAdvisor reviews and although it is a popular place, you can find some bad reviews telling you that it is not worth it and too expensive for the quality of the food.

I believe everyone has different opinions and experiences but I absolutely loved it and I would come back. It is true that it can be a bit expensive in comparison to other places but it’s good if you want to treat yourself or others!

To summarise, my main advice is to get there early so you can make the most of it.

En mi última visita a Londres, decidí probar Elan Café ya que es una de las cafeterías más famosas en Londres. Para aquellos que no han escuchado sobre Elan Café, es famosa por sus paredes llenas de flores, sus decoraciones rosas y sus cafés/tés.

Ya había intentado merendar allí antes pero había una cola gigante para sentarse dentro, estaba lloviendo y bueno, quería pasar más tiempo visitando más sitios en Londres en vez de esperar. Así que solamente me pedí un chocolate caliente para llevar y estaba súper bueno.

Esta última vez me aseguré de llegar temprano para pillar sitio. Fui a la que está en Park Lane, era un domingo por la mañana y abría a las 8. Mi pareja y yo fuimos los primeros en llegar, los camareros eran súper simpáticos y tuvimos la suerte de elegir donde sentarnos.

Nosotros pedimos un bowl de acai, un chocolate caliente, huevos escalfados con muffins y un croissant. El bowl de acai estaba muy bueno y la verdad que me esperaba un bowl pequeño como me ha pasado otras veces al pedirlo en otros sitios. Por eso me pedí el croissant primero. Sin embargo la porción era bastante grande para llenarse solo con el bowl de acai.

Mi pareja se pidió el chocolate caliente que tenía esponjitas y los huevos escalfados con muffins y salsa holandesa. Probé un poco de lo que pidió y también estaba súper bueno. Las esponjitas se derretían en el chocolate caliente dándole un sabor más dulce y los huevos estaban al punto.

Me sorprendió la comida sinceramente porque siempre antes de visitar sitios nuevos miro en las opiniones de TripAdvisor y aunque es un sitio bastante popular, te encuentras reseñas que te dicen que no vale la pena y es muy caro para la calidad de la comida.

Pienso que cada persona tiene una opinión y una experiencia distinta. En mi caso, a mi me encantó y volvería de nuevo. Es verdad que es más caro que otros sitios pero está bien si quieres darte un capricho o dárselo a alguien.
